"A big showdown between two major Top 16 contenders takes place in Group C when Pau-Orthez welcomes Aris TT Bank to France on Wednesday. These teams come into the game tied for fourth place in Group C with 5-5 records. Both also enjoy tie-break advantages against the two teams tied for sixth place, Fenerbahce and Eldo Napoli, both 3-7, so it is safe to say that the winner on Wednesday will have a clear shot to reach the Top 16. Tempo could be the biggest key in this game. Aris opts to slow down its offense to look for its main offensive options, sharpshooter Alex Scales (15.3 ppg.), power forward Jeremiah Massey (13.4 ppg., 8.8 rpg.) and center Mike Wilkinson (12.8 ppg., 5.8 rpg.). Pau-Orthez prefers an up-tempo offense in which Britton Johnsen (. ppg.) and Michael Wright (16.2 ppg.) play decisive roles. Wright, a pure low-post player, has been unstoppable so far, ranking seventh in scoring and sixth in index rating among all Euroleague players. He found his perfect complement in Johnsen, a versatile forward with quickness and unlimited range. Ian Mahinmi (4.1 ppg.) will be ready to come off the bench and provide intensity and defense inside. Aris has its own star frontcourt duo in Massey and Wilkinson, with Giannis Giannoulis (3.8 rpg.) and Kevin Fletcher ready to come off the bench. Pau will have the most chances to win if it stops Scales, who is key for Aris considering the weakened state of the visitors' backcourt. Aris point guard Terrell Castle (9.3 ppg.) stayed home due to the after-effects of appendicitis surgery. His backup, Giorgos Kalaitzis (2.6 ppg.), is sick with flu, while slasher Spyros Panteliadis and scoring machine Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf (5.9 ppg.) are not 100 percent healthy either. Aaron Miles (8.8 ppg., 4 apg.) will try to take advantage of Castle's absence to lead a deep Pau backcourt featuring shooting specialist C.C. Harrison (9.8 ppg.), do-it-all swingman Ricardo Greer (8.6 ppg., 5.9 rpg.) and explosive forward Michael Bauer (10.5 ppg., 1.2 bpg.). Greer will test his all-around skills against veteran stopper Giorgos Sigalas (2.6 ppg.), while Bauer and Harrison will have the tough mission of guarding Scales. Expect nothing but an intense, decisive game in Pau on Wednesday."

Aris TT Bank head coach
"The team continues to play at a high level since the beginning of the new year. The home win against Napoli increased our possibilities to qualify for the Top 16, but the team is still hungry. To be honest, we face some injury problems: Castle is still sidelined, Kalaitzis is exhausted because of flu and both Panteliadis and Rauf are not 100-percent ready. It is necessary to find solutions in the backcourt in order to stay close to Pau until the end of the game. I strongly believe that my players will struggle again for the win."
